Los Llamarada land in Europe!

One of most fantastic bands on the planet is going intercontinental. The Monterrey, Mexico outer-zoning psych-punk savants, Los Llamarada, begin a short European tour this weekend in Belgium.

On the strength of their incredible debut LP, The Exploding Now on S-S Records (one of my tip-top picks of 2007), Los Llamarada have played just a handful of shows in Austin, Texas, and Northern California. If you follow AFS, you probably already know that this band is very special. I was very fortunate to catch the band twice here in Davis where they riveted nearly everyone in attendance with their deceptively simple mix of skeletal rhythm, vocal anguish, icy keys, and swervin'/snarlin' surfadelic guitar.

In 2007, S-S also released their first 7", The Very Next Moment, and S-S has scheduled their second album, Take the Sky, for an April release.

Here's their Europe tour schedule:

Sat, 2 Feb in Hasselt, Belgium
@ K-RAA-K³ Festival, KC Belgie

Sun, 3 Feb in Den Haag, Netherlands
@ Helbaard @ Den Haag, Netherlands

Mon, 4 Feb in Paris, France
@ La Miroiterie, 88 rue de Menilmontant, Metro Menilmontant w/ Pumice & Minitel

Wed, 6 Feb in Cologne, Germany
@ Kulturbunker

Thu, 7 Feb in Diksmuide, Belgium
@ 4AD

Fri, 8 Feb in Antwerp, Belgium
@ La Campine Bar
